Bangalore: Microsoft has finally decided to do away with the MSN Web Messenger. The Official Windows Live Team Blog has announced that the old version of MSN Web Messenger will finally retire on June 30, 2009. The replacement will be integrated into Windows Live Hotmail. The news came as a disappointment for millions of MSN Web Messenger users across the globe.
This latest service will provide the users the option to chat through their contact list or by hotmail, and connect to their messenger friends by signing into messenger from windows live people page. It will show the users who are online while accessing the email. The emails from contact list will have the status icon and sharing of data will be more convenient. The new service has more advantage than the former one.

The exterminate date of June 30, 2009 is not only pulling down MSN Web Messenger, but also pulling Microsoft Money, Microsoft Encarta, and Windows Live OneCare down. But it is expected that the new IM from Hotmail would be an pertinent replacement.
